The coronavirus pandemic presents new time sensitive challenges to healthcare workers. This week, OneCare launched a new application to help OneCare participants identify patients with the greatest COVID-19 virus risk . The application uses criteria developed by the World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control, and Johns Hopkins.

Practices will be able to use the tool to proactively contact patients to be sure that they are as prepared for the COVID emergency as possible, and to meet their care needs in this challenging environment. The application is designed to assist providers in reaching out to those with the greatest risk of morbidity and mortality from the pandemic, and has the potential to be used to save lives.

OneCare Network providers are encouraged to contact OneCare directly for more information about the application.

I went on the new COVID App yesterday for my own patients and it really was successful at surfacing the riskiest people, some of whom I might not have thought of without the tool.
