Incoming CEO, OneCare Vermont

The OneCare Vermont Board of Managers has selected Vicki Loner, current OneCare Vermont (OneCare) Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, to serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective August 1st. Loner will replace Kevin Stone who has served as interim CEO since late January and will be retiring to Cape Cod.

“Vicki is uniquely positioned to assume the role of CEO of OneCare.  She has been integral in implementing the All Payer Model and Vermont health care reform.  I have had the opportunity to work with Vicki during her tenure at OneCare and I have great confidence that she will continue to be a strong leader of this important effort,” said Steve Leffler, MD, Chair of the OneCare Board of Managers and Interim President and Chief Operating Officer of the University of Vermont Medical Center.  “The Board appreciates Kevin’s leadership during our national search process and we thank him for his service.”

Vicki Loner, RN.C, MHCDS, has over 24 years of experience in health care and is recognized locally and nationally for her unique combination of clinical, quality, and health care management expertise. Her strong leadership and team development abilities, her in-depth knowledge of state, federal and national health care standards, and her commitment to continuous quality improvement make her uniquely qualified to lead OneCare into the future.

In her current position as Vice President and COO, Loner oversees a variety of health services functions, including care coordination, clinical operations, quality improvement, compliance, finance and analytics, network enrollment and development. Loner has served as Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Vermont Health Access and also held clinical and managerial roles at both MVP Health Care and BlueCross and BlueShield of Vermont.  She began her health care career as a registered nurse (RN) and completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) degree summa cum laude in Health Care Administration and Nursing.  She completed her Master of Health Care Delivery Science (MHCDS) degree from Dartmouth College.
