We work at the forefront of health care reform and innovation by partnering with health care providers to transform the state’s health care system. By managing network performance, giving health care providers actionable data and analytics, and providing payments in a structure that incentivizes quality of care and improved population health, we support participating organizations in their work to deliver excellent health care to Vermonters.

Chief Legal Counsel

The incumbent will serve as the Internal Legal Counsel for OneCare Vermont, a statewide Accountable Care Organization (ACO) and as a member of the Office of General Counsel of the University of Vermont Health Network (UVMHN). Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with current, unrestricted licensure in the State of Vermont. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferable including at least 3 years serving as in house counsel. Extensive experience in healthcare law and specific expertise in working with large systems including hospital networks and/or Accountable Care Organizations is strongly required. Must work collaboratively across all levels of the company. Must have superior communication skills including written, verbal and interpersonal skills and be able to listen effectively, solve problems, anticipate issues and make effective decisions.

ACO Senior Payment Reform Analyst – Hybrid/Remote

The Senior Payment Reform Analyst (“Analyst”) is responsible for developing, operationalizing, maintaining, and monitoring the OneCare Vermont Accountable Care Organization payment reform initiatives. These initiatives include the statewide value-based contracts with payers as well as hospital fixed payment conversions, the Comprehensive Payment Reform program for independent primary care, and other payment reforms yet to be operationalized. The Analyst will work closely with the Director of Payment Reform and other OneCare finance and analytics team members to ensure payment reform programs run smoothly, unfavorable trends are observed and raised quickly, and the programs yield the intended results. Additionally, the Analyst will interface with network participants and payer representatives to further payment reform programs and ensure participant understanding. This role requires a high level of analytical, technical, and financial competency and the incumbent will contribute heavily to the success of the ACO and its payment reform programs.

Recruiting for the OneCare Board of Managers

OneCare is seeking a BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont (BCBSVT) consumer representative to serve on the OneCare Board of Managers. Nominees must have BCBSVT coverage through their employer or obtained through Vermont Health Connect (Vermont’s Health Insurance Marketplace). The BCBSVT consumer representative may not be an ACO provider, an employee of an ACO provider, or an owner of an ACO provider. They may not have an immediate family member who is an ACO provider, an employee of an ACO provider, or an owner of an ACO provider. Experience or training advocating for consumers on health care issues is preferred. The individual should be consistently available for board meetings occuring from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month on Zoom.  A $150 stipend is available for all meetings attended. We are committed to representing the diversity of consumers served by the ACO.
